Autodesk has launched Softimage 7.5, offering timesaving new features, such as UV unfolding technology, a multithreaded Syflex cloth simulator and an integrated mental ray 3.7+ renderer. Artists have used Softimage to create numerous movies, commercials and video games, including the Oscar-winning film Happy Feet,’ Coca Cola's ‘Heist’ Super Bowl ad, and the ‘Fable II’ video game.

The Original Crew of the Starship Enterprise are roaring to the iPhone and iPod touch from IDW Publishing and iVerse Media.  Available immediately, Star Trek Archives: The Best of Peter David #1 is the first issue of the ongoing digital comics series that reprints some of the best comics from Star Trek’s illustrious history. 

The latest Lara Croft game sends the explorer swimming under the ocean to explore tombs protected by krakens and other Norse creatures. According to Eric Lindstrom, the creative director at Crystal Dynamics, developers chose Norse mythology as the basis for Tomb Raider: Underworld because it is largely unknown.

Fox has announced Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder, the fourth feature-length adventure of the popular animated series, will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray February 24.
