New Tomb Raider: Underworld based on Norse Mythology

The latest Lara Croft game sends the explorer swimming under the ocean to explore tombs protected by krakens and other Norse creatures. According to Eric Lindstrom, the creative director at Crystal Dynamics, developers chose Norse mythology as the basis for Tomb Raider: Underworld because it is largely unknown.

Autodesk Maya Serves as Animation Platform for New Star Wars

Lucasfilm Ltd. and Lucasfilm Animation are using Autodesk Maya software to create the upcoming television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, just as they did to create the feature-length animated film that is now in theaters.
These are the first animated Star Wars projects from Lucasfilm. The projects benefited from a global production environment, with Maya as the hub for creating highly detailed worlds, characters and creatures, including Anakin Skywalker, R2-D2, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jabba the Hutt.

BODYPAINT 3D created realistic textures for 'The Incredible Hulk'

MAXON Computer, a developer of professional 3D modeling, painting, animation and rendering solutions, announced that Rhythm & Hues (R&H), one of Hollywood's visual effects and animation studios, have chosen MAXON's BodyPaint 3D, to deal with a range of complex texture painting challenges associated with the creation of central scenes and characters in the recently released Universal Pictures feature film, 'The Incredible Hulk'.

Guinness World Records: The Video Game

This is Guinness World Records: The Videogame, a new title from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games for the Wii and DS, which allows players to experience breaking a world records through "quick-fire action challenges" (mini-games), from tightrope walking across the Grand Canyon to growing the world's longest, most disgusting fingernails.
