Picasa - Google's first rate Graphics suite for Linux

Today, Google did something which would gladden the hearts of thousands of GNU/Linux users - well at least those who are not as rigid in outlook about GPL any way. That is they finally released a version of Picasa for Linux. Picasa is a first rate graphics package rivaling even Adobe Photoshop Elements in ease of use, functionality and above all cost.
Any one who has some experience in the graphics industry would be aware that Adobe sells a stripped down version of Photoshop called Photoshop elements for Windows targeted at home users. Picasa is a direct competitor of Adobes product and a worthy one too.

DAZ Productions Offers Hexagon 3D Modeler for Two Dollars

The application, which originally retailed for $269.00, was part of the DAZ acquisition of Eovia Corporation in April of this year.
DAZ Productions is best known as a provider of 3D models to subscribers of its content collection. However, it also develops apps that make use of its models, including the free DAZ|Studio 3D digital art creation tool, the Mimic lip-synching program and Bryce, a 3D environment and animation package acquired from Corel in 2004. Hexagon was included with the Eovia acquisition along with Carrara, which provides 3D modeling, animation and rendering capabilities.

NVIDIA releases new versions of Gelato renderer

NVIDIA Corporation releases two new versions of Gelato software.
The new Gelato will be available in two modifications: free Gelato 2.0 software – the render tool you can download from the NVIDIA site, and Gelato Pro 2.0 software, which offers advanced production-grade rendering functionality and comprehensive support, is available for purchase from NVIDIA and authorized regional resellers.
